A year ago, I was in my bedroom, sitting at the desk I’m currently sitting, admitting to myself that I let my mental health get the best of me in 2017 and because of that, my reading suffered. I came to this corner of the internet and talked about how I had only read 10 books in 2017 (the least amount of books I’ve read in a year since I fell in love with reading).
Troye Sivan is a guy that I have watched take over the music world on pure talent and a special kind of humility and kindness. From a YouTube career that started in his bedroom, to a music career that takes him across the globe on headlining tours, Troye is someone I will always be happy to support and I’m so excited to say that the day has finally come: Troye’s sophomore album, Bloom, is now available everywhere!
Young adult author Jenny Han’s 2014 romance novel To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before officially has a movie adaptation out in the world. As someone who holds my book to movie adaptations to a higher standard than most, let me put my fellow book lovers’ minds at ease – you will adore this movie. It’s a sunny, Wednesday afternoon in California. I’m in my bedroom. I’m sitting in the middle of my bed as I type these words. To my left on a bookshelf is two years worth of newspapers from my time as a writer and editor at my university’s student paper. Every high and low point of my time as a student journalist and a journalism student is running through my mind as news rolls in of a shooting at a newsroom on the opposite end of the country in Annapolis, MD.
